Latitude vs Converra: From Agent Failures to Verified Fixes
Converra diagnoses production agent failures, generates bounded prompt or configuration fixes, tests them against the current agent, ships what you approve, and returns a production verdict. Latitude V2 finds recurring failures in production traces, can dispatch a coding agent to propose a pull request, and supports replay tests and comparisons of live traffic.
Both can contribute to fixing an agent. The choice is whether you want to assemble the investigation, coding-agent and testing workflow around Latitude signals, or use Converra's managed behavior-fix loop. This comparison follows Latitude's current V2 docs rather than treating the older prompt manager as its current architecture.
The short version
Choose Latitude for trace-level signals, coding-agent dispatch and comparisons you define over your data. Choose Converra for a bounded behavioral change tested against the current agent and tracked through a production verdict after approval.
Latitude vs Converra, side by side
Each row answers the same question for both products. Latitude statements come from its own documentation, reviewed on the date shown above; sources are listed at the end.
- Dimension
- Primary job
- Latitude
- V2 observability and signal-discovery platform for agents running in your own application
- Converra
- Runs the improvement loop for production agents: diagnose, fix, simulate, ship with approval, verify
- Dimension
- Production evidence
- Latitude
- OpenTelemetry traces and spans grouped into sessions, with scores, annotations, evaluations and release metadata
- Converra
- Imports traces through LangSmith and Langfuse connectors, or receives conversations through its SDK and traces API, which accepts OpenTelemetry-compatible data; it is not a tracing tool
- Dimension
- Failure diagnosis
- Latitude
- Groups failed scores into recurring signals with representative traces, trends, lifecycle states and linked evaluations
- Converra
- Step-level diagnosis that labels and counts recurring failure patterns across conversations
- Dimension
- Fix generation
- Latitude
- Cursor agent dispatch sends signal context to a configured repository and can ask the coding agent to implement a fix and open a pull request
- Converra
- Generates bounded prompt or configuration variants aimed at a diagnosed pattern
- Dimension
- Testing before release
- Latitude
- Replay datasets locally or in CI; multi-turn simulations can use Scenario; tagged runs are compared in Experiments
- Converra
- Head-to-head multi-turn simulation against the current agent on the same personas, plus regression scenarios
- Dimension
- Deployment and approval
- Latitude
- Your prompts and provider calls stay in your codebase; dispatched pull requests follow your repository's release process
- Converra
- Review-first by default: a GitHub pull request or a direct update a person applies; optional auto-deploy requires a passing regression test
- Dimension
- Verdict after release
- Latitude
- Signals track resolved and regressed failures; Experiments compare live or simulated cohorts and flag population-size deviations. The cited docs do not define Converra's per-fix confounded verdict
- Converra
- Measures the targeted failure on live traffic and marks the fix verified, not fixed, or confounded
- Dimension
- Hosting
- Latitude
- Managed cloud or MIT-licensed self-hosting on a single host or Kubernetes
- Converra
- Managed cloud service; the Enterprise plan lists an on-prem or VPC option
Check which Latitude version you are comparing
Latitude's migration guide says V1 was a prompt engineering platform with a prompt manager and model gateway. V2 observes agents that call providers directly, with prompts owned by the application's codebase. The guide announces a V1 sunset on October 30, 2026. Existing teams should verify their migration status with Latitude rather than assume a V1 prompt-optimization example describes a V2 install.
That matters when a coding agent recommends Latitude as a fix tool. The current Cursor integration sends signal context and sample traces to a coding agent in a repository, with pull-request creation enabled by default. It is a concrete fix path, not merely an alert, but the repository still owns testing, review and release.
Trace the refund failure through both workflows
For a support agent giving wrong refund answers, Latitude can group failed scores into a signal, supply examples to Cursor, and record replay results against a dataset. Converra diagnoses the failure at the step it happened and generates a bounded prompt or configuration variant. If the underlying problem is a broken refunds API rather than agent behavior, a code change may be necessary; a prompt fix should not disguise it.
Latitude's simulation guide supports multi-turn runners, including LangWatch Scenario, and separates simulation traffic with tags or a dedicated project. Converra also uses multi-turn simulation and regression coverage, with paired persona-level lift to select a challenger. Neither workflow turns a passing test suite into proof about future customer conversations.
Production comparisons are useful, with limits
Latitude Experiments compare baseline and variant populations selected by filters, queries and time ranges. They cover signals, behaviors, tool failures, cost and other metrics, flag large population-size deviations, and label semantic-query samples approximate. Those are meaningful checks after a release.
Converra tracks a targeted failure for a shipped fix and returns verified, not fixed or confounded. Overlapping changes to the same prompt can confound that result; model changes and traffic shifts are not automatically excluded. Ask either workflow which version, failure, population and time window its conclusion describes before treating a better chart as causal proof.
When to choose Latitude
You want recurring signals and rich trace, session, tool and cost analysis for an agent you operate.
Your team wants coding-agent pull requests from signal context and owns their validation and release process.
You need self-hosting or want to define your own traffic slices and comparison metrics.
When to choose Converra
Your recurring production failure is behavioral and can be addressed with a bounded prompt or configuration change.
You want fix generation, paired simulation, regression coverage and approval in one workflow.
You want the approved fix to return with a production verdict rather than leaving the post-release decision implicit.
Does Converra replace Latitude?
The products overlap on failure diagnosis and improvement workflows. Converra does not replace Latitude's full telemetry or signal-management surface.
There is no documented native Latitude connector in Converra. Use a supported SDK capture path for your agent and verify the conversation data it sends. The Vercel AI SDK guide and Python guide show those paths without requiring a tracing-platform migration.
Frequently asked questions
Does Latitude propose fixes, or only find failures?
Its current Cursor agent-dispatch integration can send signal context to a coding agent in your repository and request a fix with a pull request. Converra generates bounded prompt or configuration fixes inside its behavior-improvement workflow.
Can Latitude compare agent versions before release?
Yes. Its docs describe local or CI dataset replay, multi-turn simulations with external runners, and tagged results compared in Experiments. Converra also tests candidates against the current agent before approval.
Can Latitude measure live traffic after a fix?
Yes. Evaluations and signal lifecycle tracking can detect recurrences, and Experiments compare slices of production traffic. The question is how those measurements support a claim about one specific change and account for evidence limits.
Is Latitude V2 still a hosted prompt gateway?
No. The current migration guide puts prompts and direct model-provider calls in your application. It announces the V1 prompt manager and gateway sunset for October 30, 2026; verify your workspace's migration plan with Latitude.
